ALS Walk4Life

The Les Turner ALS Walk4Life is one of the world's largest ALS gatherings, with thousands of walkers gathering each year. In its nine-year history, the Walk has raised over $6 million. Walkers organize into fundraising teams, demonstrating hope, courage and community in support of their loved ones.

We'd like to thank each and every team captain, walker, volunteer, donor, sponsor and patient who helped make this year's event so successful! We are proud to report that more than $800,000 has been raised, and money is still coming in to our office! We will continue to accept donations until December 31, 2011.

A special thank you to ABC7Chicago Meteorologist Phil Schwarz, Foundation spokespeople Jonathan Eig and Keith Van Horne, Debbie and Jeff Lane for sharing their story during the opening ceremony, the ALS Walk4Life Committee, and Walk4Life Family Chair Katie Cotter of Team Jean.

Additional thanks go to our photographers, Armand Bendersky and Bob and Anne Lee. Their beautiful pictures allow us to relive all of the wonderful moments and memories. You can view general event photos or the formal team pictures that were taken near the beach.
