The Les Turner ALS Foundation has been providing healthcare for people with ALS (PALS) since 1986 when the Les Turner/Lois Insolia ALS Center was opened on the campus of Northwestern in Chicago, Illinois.
The current multidisciplinary staff includes five neurologists, a pulmonologist, three nurses, an occupational therapist, speech pathologist, dietician, genetic counselor, respiratory therapist, drug study research coordinator and medical assistant. The Center staff is complemented by the Les Turner ALS Foundation's Home Care and Community Services Team, consisting of three ALS nurse consultants and a social worker who visit PALS and their families at home. This model of providing services in both a clinical setting and in a PALS’ home allows for a comprehensive plan of care.
Registration is now open for our 2013 ALS/MND Nursing Symposium, scheduled for November 7-10 in Chicago. Please download a flier and registration form for more information. Questions? Contact Claire Owen at (847) 679-3311 or cowen@lesturnerals.org.
