Tissue Bank

Lab1 072.jpgThe tissue bank, located in the Neuromuscular Disorders Program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, is used to collect and preserve brain tissue and spinal cord tissue from patients with a clinical diagnosis of ALS. By examining the motor neurons and other cells of the human brain and spinal cord, where ALS begins, researchers can better understand the factors involved in ALS. This is an essential part of ongoing research.

Provisions for tissue donations must be made prior to a donor's death. For more information, please contact Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nailah Siddique, RN, MSN, at nsiddique@northwestern.edu or (312) 503-2712.
