The Neuromuscular Disorders Program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is actively involved in multi-center drug trials. They have participated in eleven ALS drug studies since 1993 and continue to pursue participation in new trials. Robert Sufit, M.D., Senda Ajroud-Driss, M.D. and Pat Casey, M.S., OTR/L, CCRC oversee the therapeutic clinical drug trials.

The Neuromuscular disorders Program is currently participating in a multi-center clinical research study sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) with Coenzyme Q10, a nutritional supplement, to evaluate its effect on maintaining functional abilities.
